Why a dispenser flow

Reusable assets don't fit a one-way parcel flow.

IT laptops, drone payload boxes, shared tools, loaner equipment — the asset comes back. In a standard parcel workflow the locker "forgets" the item after pickup and re-stocking means manual console work. Dispense treats the asset — not the delivery — as the unit the system tracks.

The workflow

Five steps, then it loops.

Stock → Assign → Dispense → Return → Re-arm. The cycle runs itself.

1️⃣ Stock

Load the asset into a door and register it — from the locker screen, the Smiota console, or your app via API.

2️⃣ Assign

Your system assigns the asset to a user. A one-time passcode is generated and delivered by email or SMS.

3️⃣ Dispense

The user enters the passcode or scans a QR code. The door opens, the event fires to your endpoint, and the code is immediately invalidated.

4️⃣ Return

The user returns the asset to an open door. The return event checks it back into the pool.

5️⃣ Re-arm

The passcode rotates instantly on return — not on a timer — and the asset is ready for the next assignment.
